Officer Hurt Arresting Teen, Police Say

In separate arrests on two Napa elementary-school campuses Saturday, police wound up struggling with combative suspects, according to a shift activity log released by the .
The first arrest, at , began as a report of intoxicated persons around 10:45 a.m., according to the log entry for the incident:
Officers contacted Melissa Roth (1-4-84) of Napa and a male companion.

Roth displayed objective signs of intoxication in a public place.
Roth failed to obey Officer’s lawful commands and was taken to the ground.

Once in custody Roth spit in an Officer’s face.
Roth was booked at the for pubic intoxication, battery on a police officer and resisting an officer, police said.
At about 2:25 p.m., the log continues,
Officers responded to a fight at 2214 Berks St. ().
Several juveniles were detained and cited for possession of tobacco products.
Other juveniles fled the area and were later located by an Officer.
One of the juveniles failed to comply with lawful orders and was taken to the ground after trying to flee.
The juvenile was taken into custody and booked at .
One officer was injured.
The injured officer was treated at the emergency room and released, police said.
The juvenile suspect faces charges of possessing tobacco and resisting an officer, according to the log.
