Soda Canyon Fire Nearly Contained

Firefighters estimate the blaze will be out by 6 p.m. By Bay City News Service.

A wildfire in unincorporated Napa County northeast of Napa has burned about 90 acres and was 90 percent contained this morning, a Cal Fire captain said.

One home was destroyed and several outbuildings, including sheds and a garage, also have burned, Capt. John Lovie said.

The blaze was reported around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday near Soda Canyon Road and Loma Vista Drive, off of Silverado Trail, and homes in the area were evacuated, Battalion Chief Pete Munoa said.

No injuries have been reported, and firefighters estimate the blaze will be out by 6 p.m. today.
