Small Fire Damages Bedroom in Napa Duplex

No injuries reported.

A small fire at about 4 p.m. Saturday damaged a bedroom in a duplex in the 1400 block of Sherwood Circle in Napa.

No one was injured in the blaze, which caused at least several thousand dollars worth of damage to the room and contents, as well as smoke damage throughout the house, said Napa Fire Department Capt. Carl Johnson.

"It seemed we put it out pretty fast and so were able to confine it to the bedroom," Johnson said.

Johnson said the cause of the fire is still being investigated. Firefighters were still on the scene as of 6:40 p.m.

Johnson said some children were home at the time, but the parents were out. One of the children called 911, he said.

Responding to the call were three engine units, a truck, and a battalion chief. Most of the units were from Station 1 downtown Napa, but one engine was from the South Marketplace station and another from the Napa High station, he said.
