Shirtless Man Unfazed by Tasers, Police Say

He pulled the Taser darts from his skin and continued to resist, according to police. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

A call to police about an “unwanted person” Tuesday evening resulted in a violent struggle that sent the suspect and two officers to for treatment of injuries, according to a shift activity log released by the .

When the first officer arrived at the home in the 2000 block of Coronado Avenue shortly after 6 p.m., the subject of the call, later identified as 44-year-old Cordis Jones of Napa, was standing near a vehicle, according to the log, which continues:

Jones was shirtless and did not respond to the officer’s questions.

A second officer arrived at the location and they again gave Jones multiple commands to step away from his car. 

Jones did not comply and took a fighting stance.

The officers deployed their Tasers but Jones was able to pull the darts from his skin and fight through the shock. 

A physical altercation ensued before the officers were able to get Jones on the ground and get him under control. 

Jones was taken into custody with the assistance of other responding officers. 

Jones was transported to QVH for treatment for injuries sustained during the altercation before being booked at . 

Both officers were also transported to QVH for treatment of their injuries. Both were treated and released.

Jones was booked for obstructing and resisting an officer and battery on a police officer, according to the log.
