SIx Arrested for DUI on Cinco de Mayo

The Napa Police Department reports that Saturday night's countywide drunk-driving patrols arrested five people on suspicion of drunk driving and one on suspicion of driving on drugs. Arrest information does not indicate convictions.

As they often do on festive holidays like , law enforcement agencies throughout Napa County teamed up Saturday night for , resulting in six arrests, according to a press release from the :

Officers from Napa PD, American Canyon PD, St. Helena PD, Calistoga PD, the and the participated in this operation. This patrol was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Napa County. The goal of the DUI patrols was to remove impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. 

Five motorists were arrested by the roving patrols on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and one was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, according to the press release, which concluded:

The DUI patrol was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
