Results from Holiday Weekend 'DUI Saturation' Patrols in Napa County

Napa County Law Enforcement Officers were out during the Fourth of July Holiday weekend looking for DUI drivers. The Officers were participating in the AVOID the 9 which is a grant funded by OTS. 

Several Officers worked extra DUI saturation patrols on Friday and Saturday night between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

These saturation patrols resulted in 71 vehicle stops in various cities in Napa County.

During these vehicle stops, officers noticed 27 of the drivers displayed symptoms of alcohol or drug use. These 27 drivers were evaluated and seven of them were arrested for DUI-related violations.

Additionally, one subject was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant and another subject was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant. Three drivers were cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license and their vehicles were towed and impounded for 30 days. 

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
