Register: Umbrella Quells Restroom Blaze

Campus on Lincoln Ave. did not have to be evacuated because restroom is isolated

Someone ignited a soap dispenser at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in a men’s restroom on the campus on the 1600 block of Lincoln Avenue. That caused about $500 worth of damages before a student put out the flames with his wet umbrella, the said Tuesday. 

The arson case remains under investigation, Fire Capt. Steve Brasfield said. No one was injured in the incident, he said.
