Pregnant Woman Victim of Domestic Assault, Robbery

Napa city pollice, county sheriff's department respond to disturbance call to find injured woman

At 12:33 this morning, just after midnight, both and responded to a business in the 1100 block of Imola Ave. regarding a disturbance.

Upon arrival officers an injured three-months pregnant woman who reported that she and the suspect, Abraham Chachi Rodriguez, 33 of Napa, had got into an argument at the residence in the 1100 block of Republic Ave. earlier that evening.

During the argument, she said, Rodriguez told her he would kill her and choked the victim until she lost consciousness. When the victim later attempted to flee the residence, he physically prevented her from leaving.

About midnight Rodriguez then made her drive to an ATM and told her to withdraw money from her account. The victim was apparently able to contact the police at the business, and Rodriguez fled on foot before they arrived.

The victim was seen to have sustained visible injuries and was transported to for treatment.

Rodriguez was located several hours later at a residence in the 3100 block of Solano Ave. He was found in possession of suspected cocaine during his arrest.

He was booked at NCDC with various charges pending, including attempted murder, attempted robbery, false imprisonment, domestic violence, criminal threats and possession of a controlled substance.
