POLICE: Theft, Drug Possession, Assault, Giving Police False ID

Napa police arrest multiple suspects over the weekend.

A man was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of stealing merchandise from the Parrott AT&T Cellular store, 1342 Trancas St., Napa.

Dmaurier James Wood was taken into custody at the store at about 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23.      

Police said Wood entered the Parrott AT&T store several times Friday looking at phones.

Police allege Wood stole a Samsung Galaxy S4 valued at $745 from the display case and fled the store not paying for the phone. 

A witness allegedly saw Wood get into the passenger door of a Nissan Maxima and leave the area. The vehicle was located by Napa Police officers on southbound Highway 29 at Green Island Road.

Wood was identified and allegedly admitted to stealing the phone. He had also allegedly provided a false name to Napa Police Department officer when they first stopped him.

Wood was arrested, transported and booked at Napa Department of Corrections.

Two men were arrested Sunday on suspicion of drug and drug paraphernalia possession.

Donovan William Hermes, 39, and Leonard Stallings, 44, were taken into custody at about 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Walmart, 681 Lincoln Ave., Napa.

 Napa Police officers on Sunday evening checked an occupied vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.

Stallings and Hermes were allegedly identified. Hermes was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine, prescription morphine (unlawfully) and hypodermic needles/syringes.

Stallings was allegedly found to be in possession of two glass smoking pipes used for smoking methamphetamine and a usable about of methamphetamine.

Both subjects were arrested and booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 40-year-old man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of domestic violence.

Luis  Alfonso Naranjo was taken into custody at about 10:20 a.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Soscol Avenue, Napa.

The incident began when Napa Police officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Soscol Avenue for a disturbance complaint.

Upon arrival, officers contacted Naranjo who was intoxicated.

It was determined that he and his wife, the victim had argued over the volume of the music being played inside the residence.

Naranjo allegedly became angry over the request which frightened the victim. Naranjo allegedly struck her once in the back with a fist.

This caused a red mark and pain to her back.

Naranjo was arrested, transported and booked at NCDC.
