POLICE: Sex Offender Probation Violation, Drug Possession

More arrests this week by Napa Police.

A 41-year-old Napa man was arrested this week on suspicion of violating his probation terms as a convicted sex offender by allegedly using internet dating sites.

Gregory Michael Evans was taken into custody at 11:23 a.m. Monday at a home in the 100 block of Hartson Street in Napa, police said.
 
Police said Napa Police detectives followed up on information they received that

Evans, a registered sex offender, was violating the terms of his probation by using online internet dating websites.

Evans contacted a subject online and gave a false name and a false California identification number to the subject in an attempt to conceal his true identity and that he was a sex offender registrant.

Evans was located in the 100 block of South Hartson Street and arrested without incident. He was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 36-year-old Napa man was arrested this week on suspicion of possessing suspected heroin, marijuana, hypodermic needles and Vicodin for which he did not have a prescription.

Philip Conley was taken into custody just before midnight Tuesday in the vicinity of the 3500 block of Cascade Street in Napa.

At the time stated above, an officer stopped the driver of a vehicle for a mechanical violation.  The driver, Conley, was the sole occupant. 

A strong odor of marijuana was coming from the interior of the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle revealed suspected heroin, marijuana, several hypodermic needles, and Vicodin for which Conley did not have a prescription. 

Conley was arrested and booked.
