Police Seek Man Who Fled on Foot in Downtown Napa

Sean Patrick McNight is wanted for resisting arrest and on a warrant out of Georgia.


 Napa Police are seeking a 30-year-old transient wanted on a warrant out of Georgia who fled Thursday in a foot chase in downtown Napa.

Police are looking for Sean Patrick McKnight, who fled while in the process of being arrested on the outstanding warrant at about 2:45 p.m. in the vicinity of the Napa County Library, 580 Coombs St., Napa.

He is also wanted for resisting arrest.

The incident started when an officer saw McKnight standing near his bicycle in the 500 block of Coombs Street near Division Street.

The officer knew McKnight had an arrest warrant out of Georgia. When the officer pulled alongside McKnight and began to exit his car, McKnight jumped on his bicycle and fled.

The officer got back into his car and pursued McKnight a short distance, at which time McKnight got off his bicycle and began to run in the 500 block of Brown Street.

He then ran into a yard and jumped over a fence, at which time the officer lost McKnight.

A perimeter was set in the area by responding officers and a search for McKnight began. Officers searched the area, but did not find McKnight.

McKnight is a white male adult with short brown hair and a short beard. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and light blue jeans.
