POLICE: Napa Man Arrested for Annoying Childen

Police arrest Angel Lopez Jr. on Nov. 23.

A 35-year-old Napa man was arrested last weekend on suspicion on annoying a child, posession of a narcotic substance and probation violation.

Angel Lopez Jr. was taken into custody at an apartment complex in the 2700 block of Cooper Court in Napa.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2700 block of Cooper Ct. to investigate a suspicious subject. Officers arrived on scene and contacted an 11-year-old boy who appeared to be very nervous.

The boy told the officers that on Nov. 8 at about 6 p.m., he was standing near the walkway of an apartment in the 2700 block Cooper Court with his 8-year-old sister and his two friends (10-year-old and 11-year-old females). The boy and his friends were eating the chicken near the driveway of Cooper Court next to an appartment.

While eating the chicken, a male Hispanic wearing glasses (later identified as Lopez) came to the front window of the apartment. In plain view of the children, Lopez put his hand inside the front portion of his pants and began moving his hand up and down.

As Lopez did this, he made an inappropriate comment to the children . The children ran from the area of the apartment and went to their respective homes.

The  boy contacted his father and told him what had occurred. The father and his son went back to the apartment where this occurred, but Lopez had left. At this time the father did not contact police, because he knew Lopez did not live in the complex.

On Nov. 23 at approximately 6:45 p.m., the boy and his 8-year-old sister observed Lopez walking through the complex. The boy called 911 because his sister got really upset and started crying when she saw Lopez.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted the boy. As officers were interviewing the boy, Lopez and another subject were walking by, at which time the boy identified Lopez as the suspect in this case.

Officers contacted and arrested Lopez. During the search of Lopez, officers found an Altoids  container that contained the scheduled drug Hydrocodone.

Lopez was booked into Napa County Department of Corrections for annoying/molesting children, possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation (prior DUI).
