POLICE: Napa Man Arrested After Allegedly Brandishing Knife

Man stopped a few blocks from his home.

A 41-year-old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of felony use of force, willful cruelty to a child, exhibiting a deadly weapon and making threats with intent to terrorize.

Javier Gonzalez was taken into custody just before midnight on Aug. 2 at the  30 block of Calaveras Court in Napa.       

The incident began when officers responded to a residence in the 30 block of Calaveras Court  with regards to a report of a male subject threatening people with a knife.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspect was one of the residents, Javier Gonzalez-Diaz, who reportedly brandished a knife and threatened several of his family members.

Gonzalez chased one of his relatives with the knife and attempted to stab him. Gonzalez even brandished the knife and threatened his own juvenile son (15 yrs.).

Gonzalez fled the residence prior to police arriving, but was stopped a few blocks from the residence and taken into custody. Gonzalez was still in possession of the knife.

Gonzalez was transported and booked.
