Police Nab Napa Man for Alleged Meth Possession

Officer on patrol stopped 44-year-old man out on bail for earlier charges and found him with suspected methamphetamine, police say.

A 44-year-old Napa man was arrested Saturday evening on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine in the area of Pearl and Coombs streets, police said.

Napa Police Department officials said an officer on patrol at around 5:40 p.m. Saturday spotted Benjamin Paz, who had been arrested earlier this month on suspicion of stealing merchandise from Safeway on Clay Street.

The officer stopped Paz and found him in possession of suspected methamphetamine, police said. He was arrested on charges of felony drug possession and probation violations and booked into the Napa County jail, police said.
