Police Log: Stolen Car Recovered; Two Home Burglaries

From the Napa Police Department: Significant activity for Sept. 2 and Sept. 3.

The owner of a stolen car led Napa police to the suspected auto thief Friday morning, according to a shift activity log from the :

 On 9-2-11 at about 1045 hours a citizen called to report he was following his vehicle, which had previously been reported as stolen from Vallejo. 

The victim advised he was following the vehicle in the area of Soscol Ave and Second St.

Officers located the vehicle in the area of Soscol and Vallejo and initiated a vehicle stop. 

The suspect, Richard Cristobal Martinez (6-10-84), transient, was taken into custody without incident and the vehicle was returned to the owner.

An unlocked door spelled sorrow for a Randolph Street household Friday morning, according to the log:

On 9-2-11 at about 1145 hours, a resident in the 200 block of Randolph called police to report his residence had just been burglarized.

The residence was accessed by unknown suspect(s) by an unlocked side door sometime between 0930 and 1145 hours. 

The suspect(s) stole video game systems, games, cash, and movies.

Sometime between 2 p.m. Friday and about 8:45 a.m. Saturday, according to the log,

unknown suspect(s) forced entry to a south side bedroom window of a residence in the 0 block of Glenwood Dr.

The suspect(s) stole a computer, cameras, lenses, and cash.

Police are investigating, according to the log.
