Here’s a list of police activity for Friday from the :

Robbery arrest:

On Friday at about 6 a.m. a witness observed suspect Eddie James Johnson of Napa stealing cans from recycling bins in the area. The witness took a picture of Johnson with a phone and threatened to call police. Police say Johnson grabbed the phone and threatened the witness if the police were called. Police located the suspect a short time later and arrested Johnson for robbery. He was booked at the jail without incident.

Grand theft:

Sometime between Thursday 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday, three commercial grade extension cords were stolen from a construction site on the east side of the Kohls store in downtown Napa. The cords were attached to working equipment, and the removal of the cords caused 8,000 in damage and lost work. Police are still looking for the suspect or suspects.

Domestic violence:

At roughly 3:30 p.m. on Friday, a witness saw suspect James Spencer, a 37-year-old transient, repeatedly striking a female in the area of 1st and Main Streets. Police say Passersby broke up the assault and called the police. Police located both the suspect and the victim in separate places. The victim had visible injuries on her face. Spencer was arrested and booked at the jail.

Conspiracy and Burglary:

On August 15 at 7:45 p.m. police say Curtis Giltner, 20, of Napa and another suspect conspired to steal alcohol from Nob Hill Foods grocery store on Trancas Street.  Giltner went in the store and stole the alcohol, while the second suspect tripped open the entrance doors to let him out that way. Passersby saw the crime in progress and prevented the two suspects from leaving in their vehicle, while police were informed of the suspected crime. The suspects fled on foot, but Giltner was caught in the area, arrested and booked at the jail. Police are still searching for the second suspect.
