According to police, an Napa police officer was driving southbound in the 2400 block of Jefferson Street just after 8 p.m. Sunday.

As the officer approached the intersection at Lincoln Avenue, he noticed a blue Chevy Camaro traveling at a very high rate of speed westbound on Lincoln Ave. toward the intersection.

The officer had a green light and the Camaro had a red light and it did not appear the Camaro's driver, Reyna, was going to stop.

Suddenly, Reyna hit the brakes, causing the tires to screech. Reyna suddenly made a right turn onto northbound Jefferson Street. The officer was able to stop short of the intersection, preventing a traffic collision.

Reyna was immediately stopped by the officer and contacted. During this contact, Reyna provided the identification of another person.

At this same time,  the officer noticed Reyna was obviously intoxicated and arrested him for driving while impaired. After determining Reyna’s true identity, the officer learned Reyna is on probation out of Napa County for domestic violence.

Reyna was transported and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections for driving while under the influence, violation of probation and for using the identity of another.
