POLICE LOG: Outstanding Warrants, Willful Cruelty to Child

Napa police arrest suspects.

A 29-year-old Napa man was arrested on outstanding Napa County warrants.

Julian Ramos, described as a transient in the Napa area, was taken into custody at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at 3130 Jefferson St. in Napa.

Police said an officer saw Ramos riding a bike on northbound Jefferson near Miller’s Trailer Park (3130 Jefferson).

Ramos has been wanted on felony warrants for some time. The officer tried to stop Ramos and he rode into the trailer park, dumped the bike which resulted in a foot pursuit.

The officer lost Ramos in the trailer park and a perimeter was established. A Napa Sheriff’s Deputy and his K-9 assisted with a search, but Ramos was not located.

Based upon past experiences with Ramos, another officer had knowledge that Ramos had some associates at 700 block of Lincoln Avenue, so he and other officers went to go check. Ramos was located inside an apartment and was taken into custody without incident.

Ramos was booked.

A 33-year-old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of willful cruelty to a child,  DUI and driving with a suspended license.

Jorge Maldonado was taken into custody at about 1 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Soscol Avenue in Napa.

An officer stopped  Maldonado in the 1700 block of Soscol Ave for speeding. Maldonado’s 4-year-old daughter was in the vehicle when he was stopped. Maldonado displayed symptoms of intoxication.

Maldonado was evaluated and it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol while driving. His driver’s license was suspended as well. CPS was contacted and the child was turned over to a responsible adult.

He was arrested, transported to Napa County Department of Corrections and booked.
