POLICE LOG: Battery, Vandalism

A 55-year-old Napa man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of battery of spouse, vandalism, felony threats with intent to terrorize and felony use of force.

Jack Daniel was taken into custody at 2:30 p.m. May 21 at 757 Central Ave., Napa.

Police said officers were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Central Avenue for a verbal disturbance. The victim was reporting that Daniel Davenport had just left the residence and was possibly under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The victim said that Davenport had damaged his motorcycle.   Officers arrived and contacted the victim, who told them Davenport and Davenport’s girlfriend have been staying in Davenport’s pick-up camper for the past several days at the residence.

The victim said that yesterday at 2:30 p.m., he confronted Davenport about playing loud music. Davenport started yelling at him and started pointing his finger in the victim’s face. Davenport then struck the victim in the mouth with a closed fist. Davenport also slapped his girlfriend, during the argument.  

The victim said Davenport then got a meat cleaver, which he had been using to cut food items in the kitchen. Davenport said that he was going to kill the victim and started coming after him with the meat cleaver. The victim fled the residence and did not come back until later.

 The victim told officers that today he went out into the garage and discovered his motorcycle had been damaged.  

Later in the day, Davenport was located officers in the area of Yajome St. and Iroquois St. where he was taken into custody. Davenport was transported and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.

A 32-year-old Napa man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of battery of a spouse and felony parole violation.

Christopher Michael Johnson was taken into custody at 9 p.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Wilkins Ave., Napa.

Officers were dispatched to the front office of Napa Valley PSI, located at 651 Trabajo Ln, regarding a domestic assault report that occurred the previous day. The victim reported to staff that she had been slapped in the face by her partner and has visible marks.  

Officers contacted the victim, who stated on 5/22/2013 at approximately 2100 she and her boyfriend, Christopher Johnson, got into an argument while at their residence in the 2000 block of Wilkins Ave. The argument became heated and Johnson slapped her in the face twice.   

Officers went to Johnson’s residence where he was contacted and taken into custody. Johnson was found to be on parole. Johnson was transported and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.
