POLICE LOG: Battery, Drug Possession, Burglary

A 19-year-old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of probation violation and being a minor in possession of alcohol after an incident on Homewood Avenue in Napa.

Edgar Rolando Barboza was taken into custody just after 3 p.m. May 24.

Officers went to Barboza’s residence on Homewood Drive to conduct a probation search of Barboza.

Barboza was at home, terms of his probation include that he is to obey all laws and not consume or possess any alcoholic beverages and/or drugs.

He was found to be in possession of several different types of alcoholic beverages. He allegedly had been drinking a beer just prior to officers arriving on scene and he tested presumptive positive for cocaine and marijuana.

He was arrested and booked at NCDC.

A 29-year-old Vallejo woman was arrested on suspicion of battery, drug and drug paraphernalia possession and outstanding warrants at a home in Napa.

Sherelle Lanette Williams was taken into custody at 9:30 a.m. May 25 at the Fairview Market, 1075 Coombsville Road, Napa.
  
Officers were dispatched to the Fairview Market to investigate a possible kidnapping that was later determined to be unfounded.

During the investigation Williams was contacted at the market. Williams was allegedly intoxicated and subsequently arrested on two outstanding Solano County warrants.

Williams was also found to be in possession of Vicodin that she did not have a prescription for and a glass smoking pipe with burnt residue. Williams was booked at NCDC.

A 20-year-old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of burglary after an incident at the 100 block of Hartson Street in Napa.

Dustin Wayne Dyer was taken into custody at 2:10 p.m. May 25.
    
Napa Police officers responded to the 100 block of Harston Street for a report of a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, Dyer was located in a green Toyota, pretending to be asleep. The vehicle had a broken out right rear window.

Dyer was not the owner of the vehicle. He allegedly had been going through the vehicle when officers had arrived and was wearing the victim’s sweatshirt that had been in the back seat of the Toyota.

Dyer was arrested and booked at NCDC.

A 29 year old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of possession and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Ignacio Barrera was taken into custody at 7 p.m. May 25 at a residence in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue in Napa.


Napa Police officers were driving through an apartment complex parking lot in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue.

The officers contacted two subjects near a vehicle who looked extremely nervous. Ignacio Barrera was one of the subjects contacted; he gave officers permission to search him for drugs and weapons.

 A small amount of crystal meth was allegedly located wrapped in a folded dollar bill in his pocket.

Barrera had a problem standing still. Two other baggies of suspected Meth were located near him. He was evaluated for being under the influence of a controlled substance and determined that he was. Barrera was arrested and booked at NCDC.

A Napa man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after an incident at a home in the 2400 block of Pacific Street in Napa.

Amilcar Gonzalez Escalante, whose birth date was not available, was taken into custody at 8:18 p.m. May 25.

Napa Police officers responded to a residence in the 2400 block of Pacific Street for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, an NPD officer spoke with the victim and her husband Amilcar Escalante.

They had argued over the lack of the victim's cooking abilities and their living situation. The victim allegedly threw a bowl of rice at Escalante.

 At one point, Escalante put his hands around the victim’s neck and she sustained some minor scratch marks. He was arrested for domestic violence and booked at NCDC.
