Police Log: Suspects in Burglary, Assault, Lewd Acts with Minors Arrested

Napa police take suspects into custody.

A 23-year-old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, burglary and probation violation.

Joseph Erick Monge was taken into custody at 1:15 p.m. Friday in connection with an incident that began on Feb. 25.

According to police, two victims had been physically assaulted on Feb. 25 by four suspects at a residence in the 200 block of Hartle Court.

During the altercation, one victim was punched, causing facial injuries. The other victim was punched in the face and stabbed in the leg and arm.

On Friday, March 1, detectives were able to identify one of the assailants as Joseph Monge, by way of witness statement.

At 1:15 p.m. Friday, detectives contacted Monge at his residence in the 1700 block of Tallac Street and took him into custody. Monge was booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.

The investigation into this matter continues, as investigators attempt to identify the other assailants.

A 33-year-old Vallejo man was arrested just after midnight Saturday morning on suspicion of conducting lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old at a movie theater in Napa.

Martin Naranjo was taken into custody at the Century Theater, 195 Gasser Drive, after officers were sent there in response to a report of minor that had been inappropriately touched. 

The responsible, Martin Naranjo, was being detained by security on scene.

It is alleged that while four minor females, ages 13-14 yrs., were exiting one of the movie theaters, Naranjo grabbed the buttocks of one of the minors as he held the door open for girls to exit the theater.

A report of the incident was made to onsite theater security. Security personnel contacted Naranjo within the theater and took him into custody.

Napa Police Department officers arrived on scene and took custody of Naranjo and booked him into Napa County Department of Corrections.
