Metro PCS Burglary Suspect Arrest Highlights Today's Police Log

Authorities arrested a suspect in the Metro PCS burglary that took place on April 4.

Authorities arrested a man that they believe is responsible for a burglary that took place on April 4 at the Metro PCS store located at 2815 Jefferson Street.

Police say that Joseph John Louis Fowler, 37, of Napa, broke into the store on sometime before April 4 at 9:45 a.m., and took several iPhones from the business. The store's surveillance cameras recorded Fowler committing the burglary police said and the hunt for Fowler was on.

On April 12, at 1:30 p.m., police went to a home on the 100 block of Homewood Avenue to locate Fowler. The found Fowler hiding in the shrubs of a home in the area and took him into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of the burglary as well as violation or probation.

Fowler was taken into custody for the burglary of PCS Metro and booked.

Robbery Arrest

The Napa Police Department arrested Gary Scott Smallwood, 49, listed as a transient, on suspicion of robbery and domestic violence.

Police went to Target at 4000 Bel Aire Plaza, at 8:39 p.m., Friday, in response to a report of an assault, according to police.

A woman contacted police and told them that her boyfriend, Smallwood, hit her in the face and took her cell phone.

The officers arrived at Target and saw Smallwood leaving the parking lot in a motorhome. They pulled him over and took him to jail on suspicion of the assault and the robbery. The woman sustained what police are calling minor injuries.

She did not require immediate medical attention, police said.

DUI, Drug Arrest

A 32-year-old Napa transient went to jail Saturday night after a brief police vehicle pursuit.

Police said Ricardo Gonzalez, 32, of Napa, failed to yield to an officer who had attempted to pull him over as he drove a green Ford Mustang on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., in the area of Old Sonoma Road at Jefferson Street.

Instead, Gonzalez turned onto Old Sonoma Road and continued without stopping, according to police. Gonzalez drove north on Walnut Street, reaching speeds of 45 miles per hour, and running the stop sign at Walnut and Laurel streets.

The brief chase ended when Gonzalez turned west on Laurel Street and drove to the dead end of Laurel Street at Highway 29. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI, being under the influence of methamphetamine and evading a police officer with wanton disregard for safety.

Cocaine arrest

Police arrested Abraham Sosa, 24, on suspicion of possession of cocaine and being an unlicensed driver.

Police pulled Sosa over on the 2440 block of West Imola Avenue, Saturday, at 7:54 p.m., for an alleged mechanical violation.

Sosa told officers that he didn't have any identification, according to police, and while searching Sosa for the identification; they located a folded dollar bill with suspected cocaine inside of it.

The officers also discovered that Sosa did not have a driver's license. Sosa was taken into custody.
