Police: Juveniles Apprehended in Vandalism Spree at NVUSD

With the help of a new video-surveillance system, Napa police say they've identified a total of seven middle-schoolers suspected in a string of break-ins and vandalism on Napa Valley Unified School District property.

Napa police say they've identified seven juveniles suspected in a series of break-ins on property going back to January.

According to a nixle.com message from the ,

During the past few weeks, the Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) Bus Yard office, numerous school buses, NVUSD Construction Shop and the gym locker room were forcibly entered in at least six separate incidents.

Approximately 20 school buses were entered during the last part of January. The suspects removed all the fire extinguishers and left them around the bus yard. They also discharged several of the fire extinguishers, two inside a bus.

The suspects caused extensive damage to NVUSD structures in the form of graffiti (reading) “TGK”, discharging fire extinguishers inside buildings, including damaging windows and doors. The suspects also took NVUSD property during the commission of the crimes.

Additionally, “TGK” graffiti was also found on the new turf field at Napa High School. The loss and damages to the Napa Valley School District are estimated to be in (the) thousands of dollars.

The Napa Police Department, in cooperation with the Napa County Sheriff’s Department, installed a new surveillance camera system in the affected areas.
