Police: Dirt Fails to Hide Dropped Drugs

Arrest information from the Napa Police Department does not indicate convictions.

Police made a pair of arrests for possession of narcotics late Tuesday and early Wednesday in different parts of Napa, according to a shift activity log released by the .

At about 10:40 p.m., an officer driving on Pearl Street west of Seminary Street aimed his spotlight at a group of people walking in the roadway, according to the log.

Illuminated by the glare, one member of the group dropped a package on the ground and continued walking, the log continued:

This subject, Anthony Osivwemu, 26 years (old) of Napa, was known to the officer as being on probation. 

He was contacted and the package was found to have 20 oxycodone pills wrapped in tinfoil.

Osivwemu was arrested for possession of narcotics and violation of probation.

The second arrest came at about 1:40 a.m., according to the log:

An officer on patrol observed two subjects next to a vehicle at the dead end of Val Verde Drive.

When the officer contacted the subjects they attempted to get rid of drug paraphernalia, including needles, by throwing them into the dirt. 

Cooper Borg, 21 years (old) of Napa, was found to be in possession of oxycodone.

Borg was booked at the , according to the log.
