Police Arrest Woman with Toddler

Arrest information from the Napa Police Department does not indicate a conviction.

Following a report that she had stolen clothes from a downtown store, a Napa woman was jailed Saturday afternoon for burglary, probation violation, driving with a suspended license and failing to secure a child in a safety seat, according to a shift acitivity log from the :

Officers responded to the to a report that a female had just stolen clothing items and fled in a vehicle.

Responding officers located the suspect vehicle driven by Alicia Vargas (4/19/75) of Napa and stopped it nearby.

Also in the vehicle was a 2-year-old female who was not properly secured in the vehicle.

Alicia was confirmed to be the suspect in the theft as well as a prior theft in April of this year where she was not apprehended.

During (the) incident, loss prevention personnel for Kohl’s observed Alicia take clothing and leave the store without paying.

Store employees attempted to detain Alicia and she drove away in her car.

Evidence was developed indicating Alicia entered the store with the intention of committing the theft.

Alicia was confirmed to be on probation for a prior theft conviction and her driver’s license status is suspended.

Vargas was arrested and booked into the , according to the log.
