POLICE: 2 Napa Women Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting, Stabbing Mothers

Both assault and stabbing occurred in 2 separate incidents on Monday.

 
Two Napa women were arrested Monday -- both for attacking their mothers, Napa Police said.

Terra Dukes, 47, was taken into custody at 10:40 p.m. Monday in the 80 block of Arboreo Street in Napa on suspicion of causing harm or death to an elder, damaging a cell phone and threatening with intent to terrorize.

Police said they responded to the 80 Block of Arboreo Street to a residence on a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers contacted a 76-year-old female who said she had been assaulted by her adult daughter, Dukes.

Dukes was reportedly at the mother’s house on a visit and became angry with her, the mother said. Dukes allegedly began pushing and throwing the mother against the walls in the house.

Dukes allegedly dragged the victim by her hair and threatened to kill the mother, the mother told police. During the attack, the mother said she attempted to call 911, but Dukes took the phone from the victim, preventing the call for help.

Dukes allegedly choked the mother during the assault. The mother sustained injuries and was treated at the scene by Napa Fire Department and was transported by American Medical Response to Queen of the Valley Hospital- Emergency Room, where she was treated and released.

Dukes thad fled the scene prior to police arrival, but returned home where officers contacted her and placed her under arrest. She was transported and booked into Napa County Detention Center.

Earlier on Monday, a second Napa woman, Teresa Marie Henderson, 28, was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder, elder abuse with great bodily injury and probation violation in connection with an apparent stabbing of her mother.

Henderson was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Von Uhlit Ranch Road in Napa.

According to the police report, the Napa Dispatch Center received a call from a female, who advised she had stabbed her mother.

Officers from both the Napa Sheriff’s Office and Napa Police Department responded to a residence in the 3200 Block of Von Uhlit Ranch Road in Napa,

Upon their arrival, a female, later identified as Henderson, was contacted in front of the residence.

Henderson advised arriving officers that she had stabbed her mother. She was detained and the residence checked. The 75-year-old mother was located with multiple lacerations to her neck area.

 She was treated at scene by Napa Fire Department, transported by  American Medical Response toQueen of the Valley Hospital- Emergency Room, where she underwent surgery.

She is in stable condition as of Tuesday.

Based on the evidence and statements gathered, Henderson was arrested by the Napa Police Department on suspicion of the above-named charges.
 
She was booked into Napa County Detention Center without further incident. The investigation is still ongoing by detectives from Napa Police Department Investigations Unit.

Police did not identify either of the two mothers in line with a policy not to give out names of crime victims.
