Patient Death Reported at Napa State Hospital
A 29-year-old Napa State Hospital patient has died after being given an injection and reportedly assaulting hospital peace officers Tuesday morning, according to the Napa Valley Register.
The reports that Napa County authorities are investigating the death Tuesday morning of a 29-year-old patient.
In Detectives investigate death at Napa State Hospital, the Register's Kerana Todorov writes that Brandon Joseph Coates had become violent and assaulted two hospital peace officers after staff had given him an injection to calm him.
Coates was in handcuffs when he lost consciousness and stopped breathing, Todorov reports.
