Oops...Boat Loose on Highway 29

Pickup with trailer loses load in crash.

A 2008 Ranger Fastboat was plunked on Highway 29 Tuesday when the pickup truck pulling it on a trailer jacknifed and spun it off the trailer, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Dane Lorenzen, 48, of Hidden Valley Lake, lost control of his 2006 GMC Sierra pickup on southboard Highway 29 near the Napa-Lake County border and went off the right side of the roadway at about 7 a.m. Tuesday, said CHP spokesman Jake Ramos.

As Lorenzen went off the road, the pickup and trailer jacknifed, spinning the boat off the trailer and onto the highway, Ramos said.

Lorenzen was not injured in the crash. CHP did not close any lanes, but traffic controls were in place for about two hours until the boat could be put back on the trailer, Ramos said.
