Online Ad Yields Dope Arrests

An offer to trade marijuana for electronics resulted in the arrests of two Napa men, authorities say.

An advertisement on the online service Craig’s List may have seemed like a good idea at the time. After all, millions of people buy, sell and trade goods and services there every day.

But after a “concerned citizen” spotted their offer to trade marijuana for electronic equipment, two Napa men were arrested and accused of selling the illegal weed, according to an announcement from the :

Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, Napa Special Investigations Bureau (NSIB) arrested William Cuneo, after undercover agents purchased approximately 2 ounces of marijuana from him in a parking lot on Solano Avenue in Napa.

Agents then served search warrants on Cuneo’s residence as well as the residence of his associate, David Collin, both in the 1700 block of El Centro Ave.

They found additional marijuana and evidence of further sales and marketing.

Agents became aware of Collin’s and Cuneo’s illegal marijuana sales operation after receiving an on-line tip from a concerned citizen, who had found an ad on “Craig’s List” offering to trade marijuana for a lap top or a flat screen TV.

Agents made contact with the poster and negotiated a purchase of a sample which was completed by an undercover agent after Collin and Cuneo arrived at the pre-determined time and location in Napa.

Agents made a subsequent purchase, and arrested both subjects without incident.

Collin, 52, and Cuneo, 51, were booked at the , according to the statement from the NSIB, an interagency law-enforcement team that targets drug dealers countywide.

Dope? Way to cater to the 80 an older crowd! These guys are dumb. I challenge NISB to crack down on meth. Meth is 100 times more of a crime issue in Napa that Craigslist weed.
