Officer Injured as Gang Suspects Arrested, Police Say

Arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Two Napa men, both on probation and one known to be a gang member, were arrested Saturday evening after a struggle that left a police officer with minor injuries, according to a shift activity log released by the :

On 11/12/11 about 1955 hours NPD SEU () Officers attempted to contact two subjects, one of which they knew was a known gang member on Napa County Probation, in the 3000 block of Jefferson St.

When the officers approached the two suspects, Favian Lopez 26 years old of Napa, attempted to flee on foot.

An officer took Lopez to the ground where he resisted arrest.

Lopez was eventually restrained and handcuffed.

Lopez was determined to have two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest and was on Napa County Probation.

The other subject, Kenneth Adams 25 years old of Napa, was on two counts of Napa County Probation with terms not to associate with other gang members.

Adams was arrested for violation of probation.

Lopez and Adams were booked at the , according to the log.

One officer was treated at for minor injuries sustained during the arrest, and was then released back to full duty, police said.
