NSIB Finds Children in Drug House

Five children were found at the scene of a Napa Special Investigations Bureau drug crackdown in Vallejo, police said.

NSIB Lt. Gary Pitkin said drug investigation culminated at about 1 p.m. Thursday, June 13, with the execution of a search warrant in the 1700 block of Severus Drive, Vallejo.

During the service of the search warrant, the primary suspect, Cory Taisague, was contacted in front of his house holding a bag of crystal methamphetamine in his hand, Pitkin said.

"On entering the residence, agents contacted two additional male adult visitors who were found smoking marijuana," he said.  "Five children, ranging in age from 2 – 13 years old, were also home."

A search of the residence pursuant to the search warrant yielded approximately ½ ounce of alleged crystal methamphetamine packaged for sale in various quantities, clean packaging materials, a scale, a small quantity of marijuana, a .22 caliber rifle, and over $400 in US currency, Pitkin added.

The currency was seized as suspected drug proceeds pursuant to asset forfeiture statutes. The methamphetamine and rifle (with gun lock) were found in the bedroom Taisague shared with at least some of the children.

"Because the methamphetamine was seized from an area accessible to the children, NSIB agents contacted Solano County’s Child Welfare Services (CWS) and requested their assistance in conducting a 'Drug Endangered Children' investigation," Pitkin added. "Solano CPS responded and ultimately removed the five children from the residence."

Taisague, 25, of Vallejo, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale and child endangerment. One of the adult male visitors, Willy Atoigue, 40, of Vallejo, was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale.

Both were transported to the Napa County Department of Corrections where they were booked on their respective charges.
