Drug Bust in Angwin Leads to 2 Arrests by NSIB

2 residents held on alleged pot, psilocybin possession.

Two Angwin residents were arrested on suspected drug charges after a bust Tuesday by NSIB agents.

Vernon Laurence Sherman, 46, and Vesna Ovcin Miller Sherman, 52, were arrested on suspicion of possession for sale of marijuana, marijuana cultivation and possession of psilocybin. Both subjects were booked into Napa County Detention Center.

According to Napa County Sheriff Capt. Tracey Stuart, the NSIB agents served a search warrant at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at a residence located in the 100 block of Goodwells Avenue in Angwin.

Agents discovered that the residents, Vernon Sherman and Vesna Miller Sherman, were cultivating marijuana for sale and were found to be in possession of suspected illegal mushrooms (believed to contain psilocybin, an illegal hallucinogenic). 

Agents seized 174 marijuana plants, three pounds of processed marijuana and one ounce  of psilocybin.  Both suspects were booked into Napa County’s Detention Center.
