A 31-year-old Vallejo man was arrested this week after he allegedly broke a female companion's car window and cell phone during a dispute.
Ruben Pena was taken into custody at the 1100 block of Walnute Street in Napa on suspicion of battery, vandalism and dissuading a witness or victim after the incident at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to police, officers responded to Third Street and Seymour Street on report of a dispute between a male and female walking down the street.
The investigation revealed the female victim was reportedly at a friend’s house on Walnut Street visiting when her boyfriend, Ruben Pena, showed up.
They argued and when the victim attempted to leave in her vehicle, Pena allegedly broke her driver’s side rearview mirror and punched out the driver’s side front window, shattering glass all over the victim.
The victim attempted to call the police and Pena reportedly grabbed her cellphone and threw it to the ground, breaking it, police said. Victim feared for her safety and ran down the street as Pena followed, police said.
Pena was contacted at the scene and was arrested, transported and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.
