Trip to Liquor Store Ends in Jail for Napa Transient

Police say a woman walked into La Tapatia Market on Brown Street and stole some beer.

The Napa Police Department arrested Shauna Tackett, 37, a Napa transient, on suspicion of felony burglary, burglary and violation of probation.

Police say Tacket walked into La Tapatia Market on the 500 block of Brown Street on Thursday around noon and took some beer from the store without paying for it. Market staff watched Tackett, who has reportedly stolen from the store previously according to police, as she stole from the store and confronted her outside of the establishment.

"Tackett was confronted about the theft by a store employee," a Napa PD press release stated. "Tackett reportedly threatened the employees with a raised beer bottle and physically resisted their attempts to detain her. On arrival, Officers contacted Tackett and determined that she had no money or means to pay, and had entered the store with the intent to steal."
