Nova Driver Killed in Coombsville Crash

The single-car collision shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday took the life of a male motorist whose 1967 Chevy collided with a tree on Coombsville Road. The cause of the crash is under investigation, according to Napa CHP.

An unidentified motorist was killed Saturday night in a single-car crash in the 5900 block of Coombsville Road in Napa.

When CalFire and the responded to a report of the accident just before 11pm, they found a red 1967 Chevy Nova wrapped around an oak tree.

The male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene by CalFire and AMR ambulance crews.

Officers said it appeared the Nova was going west on Coombsville when for unknown reasons the car drifted across the road and struck the oak tree with the passenger side of the car.

CalFire had to cut the roof off of the vehicle to extricate the driver.

The accident is under investigation, according to CHP.
