The announcement of a verdict in the peeking trial of Sonoma County Supervisor Efren Carrillo has been delayed this afternoon after a juror changed their mind at the last minute.
The verdict was expected to be read at 1:30 p.m. in Sonoma County Superior Court in Santa Rosa, but the jury foreman informed Judge Gary Medvigy minutes beforehand that a juror had changed his or her mind and the jury was going to deliberate further.
Carrillo, the 33-year-old 5th District Supervisor, allegedly peeked into the bedroom window and sliding glass door of his neighbor Jane Doe's apartment in Santa Rosa around 3:30 a.m. on July 13.
He testified he went to her apartment in his socks and underwear to drink beer with her and hoped they would have sex.
Jane Doe called police when Carrillo knocked on her front door and he was later arrested.
He was charged with misdemeanor peeking, but the jury can also consider an attempted peeking charge.
