Nearly There! #ButtsFire 95% Under Control on Wednesday in Napa, Lake Counties

The Butts Fire that burned 4,300 acres in Napa and Lake counties is 95 percent contained as of this morning, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said.

The fire started around 12:10 p.m. on July 1 and destroyed two residences and seven outbuildings while causing evacuations and road closures in an area northwest of Lake Berryessa.

The fire has been turned over today to Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa unit. Firefighters were mopping up and patrolling the fire perimeter this morning, fire officials said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
