Napa Woman Killed in Silverado Trail Crash

A Napa woman was killed in a two-car crash on Silverado Trail near St. Helena early this morning.

Robin Rasmussen, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene, California Highway Patrol Officer Jaret Paulson said.

Rasmussen was driving a 2005 Nissan Sentra south on the Trail near Pope Street when the crash happened at about 12:25 a.m., Paulson said.

Milton Acosta, 22, of Angwin was driving north on the Trail near Pope Street when his 2008 Toyota Scion XB crossed the double-yellow line and sideswiped the driver's side of Rasmussen's Nissan, Paulson said.

The Nissan then crashed into a power pole, Paulson said.

Acosta suffered minor injuries and was taken to in Napa, Paulson said.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, Paulson said.

The accident closed Silverado Trail until 3:20 a.m., CHP office Peter Van Eckert said.
