Napa Woman Held on Suspicion of Embezzling $9K From Buckhorn Restaurant

Money went missing over the course of a few months, police said.

A 30-year-old Napa woman was arrested Sunday on suspicion of embezzling and burglarizing $9,000 from her employer, the Buckhorn Restaurant.

Evelina Gonzalez Roman was taken into custody at about 1 p.m. at the restaurant at 1201 Napa Town Center, Napa.

According to the police log, Napa Police officers were called to the Buckhorn Restaurant regarding an employee of the restaurant embezzling approximately $9,000 over the course of a few months.

The company accountant noticed discrepancies in the accounting books for the restaurant and brought it to the attention of their management. During an internal investigation, the business identified a possible suspect, Roman.

Roman admitted to the theft and returned a small portion of the stolen money.

Roman was arrested and booked at Napa County Department of Corrections.
