Napa Sheriff: Berryessa Suspects Jailed on Warrants, Grenade Found

Seven people in Vallejo, one in Benicia and a Benicia man driving in Rancho Cordova have been arrested in connection with a rash of crimes at Lake Berryessa, according to the Napa County Sheriff's Office. Updated by Bay City News Service.

Four people were arrested today in connection with several auto burglaries and attempted auto thefts at Lake Berryessa on July 7, a Napa County Sheriff's captain said.

Their arrests came during the service of search warrants in Vallejo, Benicia and Walnut Creek by several law enforcement agencies, Capt. Tracey Stuart said.

Patricia Logan, 33, and Jeffrey Caldwell, 24, of Vallejo, were arrested in Vallejo for burglary. Angie Villanueva, 32, of Vallejo, and Shelly Bader, 39, of Benicia, were arrested for possession of stolen property. All four were booked into the Napa County jail, Stuart said.

The suspects allegedly smashed vehicle windows on state Highway 28
near the Monticello Dam between 3 and 5 p.m. on July 7, Stuart said.

The sheriff's office said two men who wore black T-shirts and were seen in a white 2000 Ford Expedition that was towing a blue and white boat also were suspects in the Lake Berryessa crimes.

Michael Allen, 46, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and attempted auto theft at his Vallejo residence on July 12.

During the service of warrants this morning, Ricky Schanke, 54, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at his mobile home at
203 Mobile Lane in Vallejo, Stuart said.

A grenade was found during the search of his home and the Napa County Hazardous Devices Team rendered the grenade safe and turned over to the Solano County Sheriff's Office, Stuart said.

Several residents of the Newell Mobile Home Park were evacuated during the incident.

James Stepps, 44, of Vallejo was arrested for possession of a controlled substance; Robert White, 42, of Vallejo was arrested on outstanding warrants and Brenda Terrado, 62, of Walnut Creek was arrested for
possession of a controlled substance. All three were booked into the Solano
County jail.

Napa police, the Napa County District Attorney's Office, Vallejo police, the California Highway Patrol, Benicia police and the Solano County Sheriff's Office participated in serving the search warrants.

901 Mariposa Street, Vallejo

905 Mariposa Street, Vallejo

Arrested:  Resident, Patricia Logan, 3/16/79, for burglary. She was booked into Napa County Jail.

Arrested:  Resident, Jeffrey Caldwell, 5/15/88, for burglary. He was booked into Napa County Jail.

Arrested: Angie Villanueva, 1/29/80, of Vallejo, was arrested for possession of stolen property. She was booked into Napa County Jail.

203 Mobile Lane, Vallejo 

Arrested:  Resident, Ricky Schanke, 12/17/57,  for possession of controlled substance. He was booked into Solano County Jail.

A grenade was found during the search. The Napa County Hazardous Devices Team responded and rendered the device safe. The evidence was turned over to Solano County. Several nearby residents were evacuated until the device was rendered safe.

506 Bonita Court, Vallejo

Arrested:  Resident, James Stepps, 6/7/68, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sale. He was booked into Solano County Jail.

150 Mimosa Ct., Vallejo

Arrested:  Resident, Robert White, 8/20/69, for Solano County warrants. He was booked into Solano County Jail.

Arrested:  Resident, Shelly Bader, 3/6/71, for possession of stolen property and check fraud. She was booked into Napa County Jail.

1203 Church St., Benicia

711 Jackson St., Benicia

            Arrested: Resident, Brenda Terrado, 6/6/50, Possession of Controlled Substance.

            She was booked into Solano County jail

1251 Homestead Ln. #148, Walnut Creek

Additional Arrest:

Charles Steeves, 1/12/57, of 1300 Lincoln Road, Vallejo was stopped in his vehicle in Rancho Cordova and was arrested for possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, and possession of marijuana for sale. 

We had a search warrant for him and his vehicle. He was booked into Solano County Jail.

Numerous agencies assisted in the service of the search warrants, including: Napa Police Dept, Napa County District Attorney’s Office, Vallejo Police Dept., California Highway Patrol, Benicia Police Dept., and Solano County Narcotics.
