Sloat said CHP officers responded to an 11:23 a.m. call of a major injury collision involving a pedestrian at Doran Beach Regional Park.

"Preliminary investigation indicates that Kathleen Cochrane, 63, of Santa Rosa, was driving on the main entry road, when she struck a 68-year-old female pedestrian, causing multiple broken bones and head injuries," Sloat said. "Injuries do not appear to be life -threatening at this time."

Sloat said Cochrane displayed signs of intoxication, and was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Rohnert Park CHP office for a drug evaluation, he said.

The woman pedestrian, who was not identifed, was airlifted by Reach helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Sloat said.
