A 20-year-old Napa gave himself up Monday to police who had been looking for him since Friday evening, when he allegedly rammed an SUV into a vehicle driven by a good Samaritan who had sought to prevent him from assaulting a woman, then fled and tried to attack another female witness, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department:
A witness/victim saw a white SUV stopped in the roadway in the 100 block of Hartle Court. As she passed the SUV, she saw Jason Larot (20 yrs. of Napa) sitting in the passenger’s seat and could see that he was grabbing the driver of the SUV by the neck.
The witness/victim pulled in front of the SUV and called the police. As she did this, Larot exited the SUV and confronted the witness/victim with profanities.
Larot then went back to the SUV and got into the driver’s seat. He then intentionally used the SUV to rear-end the witness/victim’s vehicle. He then fled the scene going south on Gasser Drive.
The witness/victim and her three juvenile passengers (1 year old, 7 year old and 10 year old) were not injured.
Another witness observed Larot intentionally rear-end the first witness/victim’s vehicle, and she followed Larot as he fled southbound on Gasser Drive. This witness was able to get the license plate of the SUV.
The witness followed Larot to the area of S. Coombs and Imola Ave. Larot stopped his vehicle, exited and confronted the witness. He was yelling at her and attempted to grab her through the window unsuccessfully. The witness quickly drove away from the area.
Officers retrieved DMV information from the license plate that the second witness obtained and went to the registered owner's address in the 2900 block of Hilltop Drive. The SUV was not there and no one answered the door when officer attempted to make contact.
On 1/19/2013, an officer went back to the residence on Hilltop Dr. and made contact with the registered owner. The officer told this person that her vehicle was involved in a collision the night before in the 100 block of Hartle Court.
The registered owner told the officer that her daughter and her boyfriend, Jason Larot, had the vehicle during that time. The registered owner’s daughter was not home during this contact with police.
On 1/21/2013, the registered owner’s daughter contacted police and told an officer that she and Larot got into an argument while they were driving in the 100 block of Hartle Court.
Larot forced her to stop the vehicle in the middle of the road, because he wanted to drive. She refused and Larot became physically abusive by hitting her in the head area and biting her in the shoulder area.
At this time another vehicle pulled alongside them and they could see that the driver of the vehicle was calling someone. This vehicle pulled in front of them and stopped. Larot exited the vehicle and confronted the driver of the other vehicle.
After yelling at the other driver, Larot returned to his vehicle and physically pushed her into the passenger’s seat. He got into the driver’s seat and drove forward, intentionally ramming the vehicle of the person on the phone. Larot then sped out of the area.
She and Larot went to a mutual friend's house and that’s where they have been for the past couple of days.
On 1/21/2013, Larot called police so he could turn himself in for domestic violence and for ramming the vehicle in front of him. Officers contacted Larot at the Napa City/County Library, where he was taken into custody and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.
