Napa Police: Two Arrested for Purse Snatching at Safeway

Two juvenile male suspects were arrested Sunday on suspicion of grand theft from a person and conspiracy, according to a shift activity log released by the :

Police were dispatched to a purse snatch inside 3375 Jefferson St at 1445 hours. The victim had her purse taken from her shopping cart while she was shopping. The suspect was seen fleeing the store.

The suspect, a male juvenile out of Napa, was located about thirty minutes later by units in the area of Sierra and Diablo. He was positively identified by witnesses and the victim. 

During the investigation, a second suspect (male juvenile out of Napa) was linked to the crime and located and arrested behind .

Both male juveniles were connected to a second similar crime that occurred to another victim one week prior in front of CVS, 1558 Jefferson St. 

They were both arrested for the charges for both cases and booked into .

Their alleged victim is still searching for her stolen property, which she has described in a flier as a “large dark brown leather-like purse with two over the shoulder straps.”

Its contents included a cell phone, checkbook, wallet, pink cosmetics bag, numerous keys, address book and calendar, she said.

“I would love to recover as much as possible and appreciate your help,” the victim wrote, asking anyone who may have found some of her property to call (707) 251-3945.
