Napa Police Seek Suspect in Attempted Murder

Also, Napa man arrested for indecent exposure.

  Napa Police are seeking a suspect in a stabbing early this morning.

Police said they are looking for  a Hispanic male adult, 20 to 30 years old, 5’-6” to 5’-8”, 180-190 lbs, muscular build, brown hair, wearing a red shirt and tan pants.

According to police, the suspect is wanted for attempted murder in the alleged stabbing of another man at about 1:30 a.m. today in the vicinity of Brown and Clinton streets in Napa.

According to police, the incident accurred when the victim, a 32-year-old white Napa man, was walking home from the downtown area when he was confronted by the suspect near the intersection of Brown and Clinton streets.

The man was contacted by the suspect whom he said was talking irrationally. The suspect and the victim got into an argument. During the argument the suspect pulled a knife and used it to assault the victim.

After being stabbed and cut numerous times, the victim was able to escape the suspect and any further attacks by running to his residence several blocks away. The suspect fled the area and his whereabouts are still unknown.

 At approximately 7:30 a.m., the victim realized his wounds were significant and had his roommate drove him to Kaiser hospital in Vallejo for treatment.

The man was admitted and is currently being treated for several puncture wounds and lacerations. While en route to Kaiser with the victim, the roommate called the Napa Police Department notifying them of the attack.

A 44-year-old Napa man was arrested this week after he was reported to be sitting naked in a car and touching himself.

David Jeffrey Harp was taken into custody just after 10 p.m. Wednesday at 3663 Solano Ave., Napa. In addition to the alleged indecent exposure, he was held on suspicion of possession and transportation of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

The arrest occurred after officers responded to Hawthorn Village Apartments on a report of a subject masturbating in a vehicle. 

The person who reported it advised that the suspect, later identified as Harp, was naked in silver Nissan Altima in the parking lot, playing with his genitals. 

The person informed dispatch that Harp left the scene driving an unknown direction on Solano Avenue.

Responding officers located Harp driving northbound on Solano Avenue a short distance from the original scene.  Harp was identified by the person who called in the report.

Harp was arrested and found to be in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. 

Harp was booked.
