Napa Police: More DUI Arrests This 4th of July Holiday

Law enforcement agencies arrested 14 people for DUI in Napa County on July 3 and 4: That's 40 percent more arrests than over the same two-day period in 2011, according to a police press release.

For the 48 hours effort from 12:01 AM Tuesday, July 3, 2012 through midnight Wednesday, July 4, 2012 officers representing nine county law enforcement agencies arrested 14 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Ten people were arrested for DUI during the same two-day enforcement period in 2011, Paniagua said.

The next major holiday DUI enforcement blitz comes in August: For an 18-day period concluding with the Labor Day weekend, regional law enforcement agencies will again be out in extra numbers looking specifically for drunk and drugged drivers, Paniagua said.
