Napa Police Log: Samaritan Saves Baby

A 1-year-old child took a precautionary trip to Monday afternoon after a landscape worker came to the mother’s assistance while the baby was choking, according to a shift activity log released by the Napa Police Department:

(2:45 p.m.) Police and Fire responded to a report of a 1-year-old baby choking at the Stonehouse apartments. 

Upon arrival, units found that a landscaper working nearby the child’s residence had revived the child when the mother came out of her apartment looking for assistance.

The subject did a finger sweep of the child’s throat and the Heimlich to dislodge the obstruction. The child was transported to Queen of the Valley as a precaution.  

Shortly before 10 a.m. Monday, police arrested two teenagers on suspicion of shoplifting at the in Bel Aire Plaza, according to the log:

At approximately 0950 hours this date, the suspect, Jose Gabriel Farfan 9-7-92 and a juvenile suspect entered Target and concealed several items in a backpack. They were recognized by store security as being involved in at least two other thefts in the past month. The suspects were detained and police responded.

Farfan was booked at the and the underage suspect was booked at , according to the log.
