Napa Arrests include Alleged Wife Beater, Drug User, Shoplifter

Recent shift activity from the City of Napa Police Department:

At 10 a.m. Sept. 17, officers received a call about a possible family dispute from a residence on the 1400 block of Sherwood Circle. When police arrived, they found a female who was alleging her husband assaulted her. The injuries were significant to the point that police arrested her husband, 44-year-old Jose Rojas, on suspicion of domestic battery. He was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

Later that afternoon, police conducted a welfare check on a person in a vehicle on the 2400 block of West Pueblo Avenue at 6:20 p.m. Police identified the man as Michael DeWeese, 48, of Napa.

“As DeWeese exited the vehicle he began to resist the officers and was subsequently placed under arrest,” the police shift activity log said. “A search of DeWeese’ s vehicle revealed a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe.”

DeWeese was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

Around 6:25 p.m. Monday, police responded to a call of a shoplifter in custody at Kohl's Department Store.

Police arrested 18-year-old Nathan Wagner of American Canyon on suspicion of attempting to leave the store without paying for $30 of merchandise. Wagner was on Napa County Diversion for a prior theft conviction and was on bail for a pending criminal case. He was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.
