Napa Police Log: Felon with Ammo; Various Drug Busts

For the second time this month, a Napa man with a felony conviction was arrested Tuesday after police found live ammunition in his home, according to the Napa Police Department :

On 2-1-11, Napa Police Officers conducted a probation search on William Church, 51 yrs, at his residence in the 3000 block of Main St. During the search, they located a live .270 Winchester rifle round and a Ruger mini 14 magazine containing 5 rounds of .223 ammunition inside a safe. Church, who is a previously convicted felon, who is on probation for controlled substances, was arrested and booked. On 2-3-11, Church was released per his Own Recognizance. On 2-8-11 at 1840 hours, Church and his residence were again searched by Napa Police officers and inside the safe, Officers located an empty magazine for a rifle and a full box of 50 live .22 caliber rounds. He wasarrested for being an ex-felon in possession of ammunition/ Felony Violation of Probation/Committing a Felony while out on Own Recognizance. He was booked into .

Police also arrested several people for drugs, one for driving with a suspended license and one for domestic violence, according to the log:

On 2-8-11 at about 2015 hours, Manual Alvarez Jr, 30 yrs, Napa resident, was stopped for driving with inoperable lighting equipment at Jefferson and Pueblo. He was found to be on probation with search and seizure. He was detained, along with his passenger, Gonzalo Ochoa, 40 years Napa resident. K9 Ringo was utilized to conduct a sniff of the vehicle and alerted inside the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia, suspected methamphetamine,and marijuana were located inside the vehicle. Both suspects were arrested and booked into NCDC without incident.

(On 2-09-11) At 0244 hours, officers were dispatched to a reported domestic violence incident occurring at a residence in the 400 of Seymour St. Upon their arrival, the victim wascontacted outside. The victim advised the suspect, Mark Harris, 36 yrs Napa resident, had slapped her during an argument. She had visible injuries to the inside of her mouth. The suspect was located and arrested. He was booked without further incident.

At 1830 hours, the Special Enforcement Unit conducted a vehicle stop on Daniel Lopez at S. Jefferson and Sycamore streets for failing to signal during a turning movement. Lopezwas found to be on two Napa county Probations and admitted to driving while beingsuspended. He was arrested on all three charges and booked without incident.

At noon, Officers checked the area of Starbucks for loiters at the request of Starbucks management. Officers located several subjects loitering in the parking lot in violation of the posted signs.  Starbucks management requested they leave.  While off Starbucks property, they were identified by police.  Michael Sweeden 19 yrs Napa resident and David Molina 19 years were contacted.  Sweeden admitted to possession of Concentrated Cannabis (Hashish).  That was located during a search and he was arrested. Molina was arrested for violating terms of his probation.
