Napa Police Log: Domestic Violence, Drug Arrests

Family violence arrests:

A Napa man was arrested Saturday afternoon on suspicion of domestic battery and false imprisonment with violence, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department:

On 10/27/12 approximately 1715, responded to the 300 Block of Coombs Street for a call of a disturbance of the peace.

Upon arrival, officers learned that Jose Ramirez (29yrs. of Napa) had gotten into an argument with the victim.

When the victim attempted to leave Ramirez prevented that from occurring by pushing the victim back into the residence where she was assaulted.

Ramirez was taken into custody and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.

Another domestic violence arrest came in the first hour of Sunday morning, according to the police summary:

On 10/28/12 at approximately 0044 hours, Officers responded to the 1400 Block of Perkins Street for the report of a domestic violence.

Upon arrival Officers learned that Steven Johnson (31 yrs. of Napa ), struck a victim during an argument.

Johnson was booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections, police said.

Drug arrests

A 20-year-old Napa man was jailed Friday on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and violating probation, according to Napa police.

Julian Contreras was stopped in the 1400 block of First Street a little after 6 p.m. and found to have outstanding Napa County warrants for vandalism and hit and run, police said. Once in custody, he was found in possession of methamphetamine, according to police. He was booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections.

Another possession-of-meth arrest came early Sunday morning, according to a police summary:

On 10/28/12 at approximately 0051 hours, an officer observed a pedestrian in the 2400 block of Old Sonoma Rd drop a hypodermic needle on to the ground.

The officer contacted the subject and identified him as Josiah Marshall (32yrs. of napa). A search of Marshall’s person revealed a small quantity of a controlled substance in his front pants pocket.

Marshall was also found to be on probation through Napa County. Marshall was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of the Hypodermic Needle, and Violation of Probation.
