Napa Police Log: Arrests on Suspicion of Kidnapping, Domestic Battery, Drunk in Public, Drugs

A Napa man was jailed after police said he dragged a woman by the arm for about 60 yards while trying to take her keys; another was reportedly drunk and unruly and a third suspected of drugs. Arrest information does not indicate convictions.

A 40-year-old Napa man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of kidnapping and domestic battery the previous day, according to a shift activity log from the City of Napa Police Department:

On 09/22/12 about 1205 hours NPD Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Valley Oak Dr. regarding a 911 hang-up. Upon the Officers arrival they learned the suspect, Clemente Chavez-Ornellas 40 years old of Napa, and the victim got into an argument. During the argument, Ornellas grabbed the victim’s arm and pulled her against her will for about 60 yards while trying to remove keys from her hand. Ornellas fled the area prior to the Officers arrival. On 09/23/12 NPD Officers located Ornellas and placed him under arrest.

Chavez-Ornellas was booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections, police said.

A reported fight Sunday night landed a 40-year-old Napa man in jail, according to the shift activity log:

On 09/23/12 about 2055 hours NPD Officers were dispatched to the area of the South Napa Market Place regarding a fight. Upon the Officers arrival they contacted the suspect, Joseph Anderson 40 years old of Napa, who was involved in the fight. Anderson resisted the Officers and was placed under arrest. He was extremely intoxicated and in violation of his Felony Napa County Probation terms which included no alcohol possession or consumption.

Anderson was booked on suspicion of being drunk in public, resisting officers and violation probation, police said.

A traffic stop in the first hour of Monday morning resulted in an arrest, according to the log:

On 09/24/12 about 0045 hours an NPD Officer stopped the suspect, Wally Rogers 53 years old of Napa, driving a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. During the incident, Rogers' person was searched. A glass methamphetamine pipe and two small baggies of methamphetamine were located. Rogers was placed under arrest. 

Rogers was booked on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, police said. Arrest information does not indicate convictions.
